Well not much has been going on, work is hectic, project scooter is still in the shop – trying to figure out what I could not – why there is a rather large air leak that is preventing ignition of the fuel mixture. Unfortunately this involves dropping the engine, unfortunate as the labour charges start rapidly adding up, but still it needs to be done. The rest of the weekend has been spent avoiding the heat, doing work (sadly), watching movies and drinking the contents of the fridge. In addition I did pick up a rather splendid bottle of merlot for the wine cellar – Frogs Leap 2005 (check it out on my snooth list) and a truely genius book “Pride and Prejudice and zombies” by Jane Austin and Seth Grahame Smith which makes one wonder – if Darcy became infected would Elizabeth have the the ability to cleave his head off?? One wonders………

As I write, I’m currently perched on the top of camelback mountain with 3 of my U15 soccer (football) team. Its expected to hit 114f today. Now to run back down and introduce them to the wonder that is lux!

So there are a ton of independent eating places downtown, whether it be a sign of my age or I’ve just found some really cool places to hang out, I seem to have become a creature of confort recently and go to the same places all the time. Anyway, to address the balance I finally got around to checking out a sandwich place which is literally one avenue over from my house – its shameful that I’ve lived here 3 years and still not been in…until now. Anyway said sandwich shop is Mcgurkees J P Sandwich Shop (2822 N 15th Ave, Phoenix) and its pretty interesting, firstly it looks like an irish tavern inside has a gaelic sounding name, yet is an italian sandwich shop….go figure. Anyway the super scilian is truely a thing of beauty, with a ton of meat on a toast poppy seed italian sub, well worth the wait.
On a separate note, the project scooter is getting the once over at scoot over, turns out I did (afterall) get the electrics in 99%, I just had two green wires by the CDI round the wrong way, which is why it would not spark….live and learn i guess…….

I’m sat in lux after a wee night out on the town, reflecting on last nites events. We started off @ the george and dragon, which I’m disliking with an increasing passion as there are an alarming amount of british imposters in there with god awful fake accents. Then worked our way around the gay bars in the melrose district – catching karokee where a fat jack osbourne look alike screeched into the mike, before heading downtown. Not bad for a day that was 113F
