Well I’ve almost unpacked, but here is the map of where we live

Day 4

Thankfully day 4 was a relatively short affair, only the 5 hours of driving today spent mostly in the rain and therefore there was nothing to see. But I am now in Boston in my apartment but with no furniture – hopefully that appears monday (along with my scooter). I was going to try and write something humorous and witty but I’m too tired and am giving up.

Day 3

Day 3 was a delightful 15 hour jaunt from Illinois through Indiana, Ohio and Pennsylvania – eventually ending in Scranton PA. Office fans (the US version) will know that Scranton is where it is set, the UK version is set in Slough – both are of equal shitness. The people are just as scummy, although some what skinnier in Slough and beer is cheaper, but the overall similarity is creepy.

The drive itself was uneventful, Ohio is a truely uneventful place and I now know why so many people in Arizona have moved there from Ohio. PA was somewhat more intriguing especially with Punxsutawney Phil – the ground hog – due to time constraints of the journey I was unable to go and smack the large rat with my cricket bat to convince him to not see his shadow next year. Nor did I find time to taunt the Armish with my abundance of technology….shame.

Final leg tomorrow…thankfully

Day Two

Firstly I survived the night – RESULT – secondly I feel strange and suspect I may of inadvertently taken one of the cats sedative pills instead of ambient, but there appears to be no sign of sexual assault. I decided subsequent nights on my road trip will be spent at the more salubrious surroundings of the Hilton. But on with the journey, today I get to drive to St Louis, which takes me across Oklahoma, a tiny bit of Arkansas and Missouri. I drove past many non-descript towns which not having a long history in which to attract visitors (as per old towns in England), they have resulted to trading off celebrities. For instance Elk City OK – actually has on the city sign “HOME OF SUSAN POWELL MISS AMERICA 1981” – I kept driving.

The remainder of the day was non-descript – I drove under the worlds largest McDonalds and kept going until St Louis.
